The University of Zambia (UNZA) affirms its unwavering commitment to respecting and protecting the privacy of all individuals who engage with the institution. In carrying out this mission, UNZA necessarily acquires certain personal information from members of our diverse community including students, staff, alumni, research collaborators, partners, and visitors. This information enables the University to deliver its academic, administrative, and community-related services effectively and responsibly.

The type of personal data UNZA collects depends on the nature of your interaction with the University and the services or programs you are involved with.   • University-Specific Information: UNZA identifiers (e.g., NRC or employee ID, Passport ID), academic status, graduation dates, and university affiliations.
  • Bio-demographic Information: Citizenship, gender, ethnicity, age, date of birth, and preferred pronouns.
  • Employment Details: Employer data, job title, work history, tax and payroll information, and professional affiliations.
  • Academic Records: Prior schools, test scores, degrees earned, grades, and academic standing.
  • Travel Information: Itinerary details, modes of transport, accommodations, and arrival/departure times when required for university activities.
  • Engagement Records: Attendance at events, volunteerism, committee participation, and awards.
  • Philanthropic Information: Donation records and expressions of interest in giving.
  • Technical Data: Device/browser data automatically collected via UNZA's websites and online services.
  • Location Information: Collected as appropriate to the service or platform in use.

Your Rights and Our Responsibilities

At UNZA, we strive to ensure that your personal information is handled with the highest standard of care.
